Barcelona April 2017 - fully booked

Sorry this holiday is now fully booked. We do, however, have some places remaining on our May Bank holiday Spa Retreat.

Enjoy guided walks through fabulous Barcelona, knitting workshops, nightly knit-alongs and the companionship of a small group of like-minded folk. Knit as much - or as little - as you want to; bring a friend, or come on your own. We're all about flexibility, and we'll pull out all the stops to give you the very best city knitting holiday ever.

We've selected the Retrome a cosy, funky, boutique hotel in the Exiample District, close to both the modernist masterpieces designed by Gaudi and the old world wonders of the Gothic Quarter, where we'll stay for 4 nights (Sunday 16th April, Monday 17th April, Tuesday 18th April and Wednesday19th April with check-out on Thursday 20th April)

Each morning, after breakfast, we'll head out for a guided walk to take in the sights.

On our first morning we'll take a walk through the Gothic Quarter. We'll follow narrow medieval streets to the old Gothic Cathedral and the Plaça Reial where the Catholic Kings bid adieu to Christopher Columbus as he set off on his epic journey of discovery in 1492. We'll visit the Jewish barrio with its long-forgotten synagogue, and the famous Church of Santa Maria del Mar immortalised in Falcones' international bestseller, Cathedral of the Sea. And, as no trip to this part of town would be complete without a visit to its most famous market, we'll also visit La Boqueria.

For our next walk, the theme will be modernist architecture and will, of course include the works of that great master of modernism whose name is synonymous with Barcelona, Anton Gaudi.

We'll mosey past the Casa de les Punxes, the Palo de Baró Quadras, La Pedrera, Casa Batiló and Casa Amatller, and then we'll wind up at the Sagrada Familia, which we'll take a tour of.

Our third morning walk will take us around the green open spaces of Park Güell and the Gaudi museum.

In the afternoons Bonny will lead knitting workshops. Each guest will receive a complimentary yarn pack containing all they'll need to complete our holiday project.
